Steven James was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the fourth son of Aline and Joseph Cardimona. Steven earned a doctorate degree in geophysics and has worked in this field for over 15 years. He is currently Professor of Earth Science at Mendocino College in Ukiah, California.
